Dumpling Festival & The mystery of the standing eggs

Yesterday was a special day, Duan Wu Jie (in mandarin)! According to story a Chinese poet was lost in the river worrying for his remains eaten by sea creatures the villages threw some sort of dumpling into the river so the sea creatures will not harm his remains! (okay I made that up) But one thing for sure after century of dumping foods onto the river we realize we should just eat the dumpling instead. Breakfast: Century Eggs

I have given you salted eggs from my previous post. Now, it’s time for another type of egg! It’s call Century egg. This egg is special. it’s almost black in color and almost transparent. If you find the color tasteless, you maybe right! I never like Century egg and I can’t find a reason for me to love it except maybe appreciation to it uniqueness.
